Chair of Electronics
The field of electronics and electrical systems has been present at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering since its very beginning. The founder and longtime head of the Chair of Electronics was Dr. Aleksandar Ilišković. Other recent heads of the chair were professors Branko Dokić and Zlatko Bundalo. The development of the chair was initially supported by teachers from faculties of electrical engineering in Belgrade and Zagreb, and later from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Niš. Their contribution was reflected through creating the curricula, participation in teaching process in undergraduate and postgraduate study, mentorships of diploma and magister thesis, and participation in shared science and research projects.
The chair initially had three courses: Electronics, Pulse technique and Digital technique. Today, 12 courses are given at all study programs of the faculty. The chair participates with 10 courses at the second study cycle.
Members of the chair have been publishing papers in international and national journals and conferences. They were organizers or science conferences and symposiums: ETAN, ETRAN, MIEL, Autoelectronics, INDEL. They have also established the journal Electronics. The chair had significant and successful cooperation in science and professional research with several business establishments, such as “Čajavec” Banja Luka, “Kosmos” Banja Luka, “Medical Electronics” Banja Luka, “UNIS” Banja Luka, and various municipalities and ministry departments.
The laboratory for electronics has at its disposal standard electronic equipment. Several new laboratories should also be mentioned: laboratory for electrical circuits design, laboratory for power electronics and laboratory for industrial electronics.
Goals for further development of the chair are improvement, development and modernization of science and academic work in all fields of electronics. The chair will continue to support and professional, scientific and academic improvement of the employees, as well as its own staff by giving the opportunities to young and promising experts in the field of electronics and electrical systems. The science and research work of the chair will be directed to providing necessary support at all levels, as well as tracking the world developments and transferring the achievements and experience to the students and others interested in the field.
